Williams was arrested after, Anderson said, he was found at Paul G. Duke Park around 7 p.m. Wednesday with a juvenile female student. He is a teacher at the Upper Valley Joint Vocational School in Piqua where the victim attended high school.
Police said Williams was charged with one count of sexual battery. If convicted as currently charged, Williams could get a maximum of five years in prison.
Williams is an electrical trade instructor at the school. He has been employed with the JVS school since August 2007.
The following is statement from Dr. Nancy Luce who is the Superintendent of Upper Valley JVS:
"Eric was placed on paid administrative leave on Dec. 31 from his position as an Electrical Trades Instructor. Prior to working at UVJVS, he was employed by Scarlett Oaks, a career center in Cincinnati.
Eric's performance has been exemplary. There were no past concerns. At this point, the district is gathering information in order to determine what the next step will be."
