Police request assistance while responding to shots fired call in Dayton

Police called for officer assistance while responding to a shots fired call in Dayton early Tuesday morning.

Around 12:15 a.m., a caller in the 2100 block of Malvern Avenue reported hearing two gunshots. The caller said that someone was banging on their door and screaming, according to 911 dispatchers.

Initial reports from Dayton Police indicate that Jermaine Williams, 42, was arrested at the scene. The Montgomery County Jail’s website lists charges of resisting arrest, felonious assault, using weapons while intoxicated, having weapons under disability and obstructing official business. However, the website lists these charges as cleared.

Initial reports indicated that an intoxicated person was involved.

No injuries were reported.
