Ohio House Minority Leader Fred Strahorn, D-Dayton, will hold on to his seat representing Dayton in the Ohio General Assembly after handily winning Tuesday’s primary election.
Strahorn received 5,808 votes, or 80 percent, compared to 1,445 votes, or 20 percent, for same-party challenger Walter J. Hickman Jr. of Dayton, according to election results from the Ohio Secretary of State.
No Republican filed to run in the district, which includes most of the city of Dayton and Jefferson Twp.
Strahorn has served as minority leader of the Ohio House since 2014.
