Dayton Daily News investigates: The impact of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is the region’s largest employer, infusing an estimated $15.5 billion into the local economy.

This week the Dayton Daily News investigated what’s being done to bring more jobs to the region’s largest employer, and the surprising ways local businesses are benefiting from the base.

“Wright-Patt is the state’s largest single site employer with just under 30,000 people so it is very important to our region and to the entire state. But it is also important to the entire United States with so many of the missions we have here. From an economic development standpoint its our largest driver,” said Jeff Hoagland, president and chief executive of the Dayton Development Coalition.
