Built in 1882 in the Romanesque style, the Kuhns building is made from brick, stone and terra cotta and has a slate roof.
The Daniels & Meldrum retail store was housed on the first floor of the building in this photograph taken in 1889. Horses hitched to small wagons and buggies are waiting along the street outside.
