11 things to see at downtown Dayton's newest sports facility

Chaminade Julienne High School will soon be christening its very first home field.

Roger Glass Stadium will open with CJ hosting Vandalia Butler High School for boys and girls soccer games on Saturday, Aug. 20. That will be followed by the football team's first home game, against Marion Local on Friday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m.

The $6 million complex includes the stadium, Eagle Field practice field and a support building to house the locker rooms, restrooms, training room and concessions.

Chaminade alumnus Roger Glass donated a lead gift that assisted the school in raising money for the complex.

Roger Glass stadium seats more than 2,100 fans and includes a nice view of the Dayton Skyline.  The field has 99,600 square feet of artificial turf and is designed for high school football, soccer, lacrosse and professional soccer matches.

Eagle Field is 80,600 square feet of artificial turf and includes markings for football, soccer and lacrosse.
