Torch or flashlight?

The French presented the Statue of Liberty to us to commemorate the Declaration of Independence. The torch is designed to shine the light of liberty so other countries can become free. (Barack) Obama says the torch is nothing but a flashlight for illegal immigrants.

Regarding the Jesus statue, I am neither for it nor against it. Maybe lightning striking Jesus saved the church. Everybody has their own outlook. Maybe he was there to protect the church, like he was when he went to the cross.
