Troy Woman Enters Not Guilty Plea To Child Endangering Charges

A Troy baby sitter entered a plea of not guilty Monday afternoon in what appears to be a case of a shaken baby.

Juliette Hoffman was first arrested in mid-February by Troy police.

Investigators said Hoffman was baby-sitting 5 1/2-month-old Trevor Nash , of Troy.

Police said that Trevor suffered serious injuries.

According to a Troy police report, Hoffman confessed she became frustrated by the other children in her care, and at herself because she was unable to get Trevor to stop crying.

Now, six months later, the grand jury has returned an indictment against her charging her with child endangering.

Hoffman remains free on $50,000 bond.

If convicted, she could face a maximum of eight years in the state reformatory for woman and a maximum fine of $15,000.
