Huffy, now headquartered in Centerville, has a long history in Dayton, dating to 1887, when founder George P. Huffman purchased a sewing machine company and moved its factory to Dayton, where the company made its first bicycle in 1892.
“Dayton has a rich history of both beer and bicycle, and we wanted to highlight that with this collaboration,” Nick Bowman, Warped Wing’s vice president of marketing, said in a release. “Even better, Huffy has built us something that we will use to bring local beer to the people of downtown Dayton.”
The “Radler” — German for “cyclist” — will deliver Warped Wing in cans and kegs to bars and restaurants around downtown, including the Oregon District, Bowman said
To commemorate the unveiling of the bike, Warped Wing has created a beer, also called the “Radler,” which Bowman described as a summer lager-style beer made with organic grapefruit juice. Both the bike and the beer will debut July 2 in the Warped Wing tap room, 26 Wyandot St. between East Third and East Fourth streets.
