The Ohio Department of Natural Resources invites you to enjoy stargazing, camping and bonfires at Caesar Creek State Park on Aug. 13, with camp registration beginning at 4 p.m.
The Perseid meteor shower will peak that evening, giving visitors the opportunity to witness the beauty of space while enjoying a night of free camping at Caesar Creek State Park.
The Cincinnati Astronomical Society will lead stargazing in addition to other naturalist programming and activities. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, along with a benefit dinner supporting the Caesar Creek Nature Center.
Visitors are asked to bring all necessary camping equipment that evening as well as plenty of water.

Anderson Road closing Monday
Culvert replacement requires closing Anderson Road at Ohio 123. Ohio 123 will remain open.
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Anderson Road will be closed for five days and reopen approximately at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12.
The detour will use Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road and Ohio 123.
Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and road closure.

LEBANON
Youth triathlon fund-raiser at YMCA
Online registration is now open for the 6th annual Healthy Kids’ Triathlon to be held at Countryside YMCA on Saturday, Aug. 20, at 8:30 a.m.
Ages 6-8 will swim 50 meters, bike a 5k, and run 1k. Ages 9–11 will swim 100 meters, bike 7k and run a 1.5k. Ages 12–14 will swim 150 meters, bike a 10k, and run a 2.5k. All swims will take place in the Countryside YMCA Outdoor Pool. Bike rides will take place on the Countryside/Lebanon Bike Trail. The cross-country running route is on Countryside YMCA outdoor fields and the Hewitt P. Mulford Nature Trail.
Registration and check-in start at 7:30 a.m. on race day, and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. The $30 entry fee covers a T-shirt, finisher’s medal, goody bag and admission for the participant and one adult to the Family Fun-Fest immediately following the event. The entry fee also allows each child, if they choose, to have a parent in the pool during the swim event.
Proceeds from the Healthy Kids’ Triathlon support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, which funds socially responsible programs such as the Lebanon City School Begin-to Swim Program.
