Facebook commenters dug in Tuesday responding to a story about a Springboro tavern's new 'no kids' policy.

A sign on the building’s entrance reads, “Must be 21 & over after 3 p.m.”

Some business are going the other direction. Cinépolis USA, which will soon open a movie theater at Austin Landing in Miami Twp., recently announced the debut of a new type of movie theater experience for families: Cinépolis Junior.

The dedicated children’s auditorium will include an enclosed play area, two slides, bean bag chairs, lounge seating and bright décor, according a press release.

Here are five things to know about these test theaters:

1. The Junior concept is not for the full theater building, just for one auditorium inside the building.

2. Cinépolis Junior will be open to children between the ages of 3-12 and must be accompanied by an adult.

3. Children will not be allowed to play during the movie. They will have 20 minutes before the movie begins to play in the play area and on the play structure.

4. The auditoriums will only feature child-friendly films, with the rating of either G or PG.

5. The first of the two Cinépolis Junior auditoriums in the nation opened March 16 in Southern California.

Cinépolis USA has plans to open a 12-screen luxury theater at Austin Landing by this summer. The new cinema will offer moviegoers a lounge-styled lobby, comfortable seating, gourmet snacks and a full bar, the company says. There are no plans in place for a Cinépolis Junior auditorium to come to the Austin Landing movie theater as of now.

The 52,750-square-foot building is estimated to cost more than $12 million and is expected to bring as many as 100 full- and part-time jobs to Austin Landing.

A $14-million-plus plan submitted to Miami Twp. includes an upscale multiplex adjoining two restaurants on 142 acres at Austin Landing. The plan, which calls for a 12-screen, 1,560-seat theater that would be a Mexican-based luxury cinema’s company’s first Midwest venture, was reviewed by the zoning commissioners Tuesday, July 21.
