Wright-Patt Credit Union opens Columbus branch

Fairborn-based Wright-Patt Credit Union Inc. has opened its first new branch office in Columbus since announcing plans earlier this year to expand in central Ohio.

Credit union officials held a ribbon cutting Dec. 3 at the branch at 1600 W. Lane Ave., Suite 150, in Upper Arlington. It is the first of five to open in the Columbus area by the end of next year.

The locally-based credit union said it currently serves nearly 4,000 members in the Columbus area. The credit union overall has more than 260,000 members.

Wright-Patt, Ohio’s largest credit union with approximately $2.6 billion in assets, described the new Upper Arlington branch as a “digitally-centric café-style member center” using interactive technology such as Personal Teller Machines and iPads. Personal Teller Machines are ATMs with video technology connecting to remote tellers.

In addition to the new Lane Avenue branch, Wright-Patt also recently opened a Columbus regional office at 1500 Lake Shore Drive.
