SHEPHERD (Foster), Barbara Estelle
Barbara Estelle (Foster) Shepherd born March 23, 1929, passed away January 7, 2021, at age 91. She was adopted from a children's home at the age of eighteen months and raised in Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty plus years, Richard Leroy Shepherd of Greenville, Ohio; her parents Walter and Laurel Foster, and a son, Kirk who died in infancy. She is survived by her three children Miriam Synnestvedt of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, Melodie Byrd (Alan) of Kettering, Ohio, and Scott Shepherd of Lompoc, California. She lived a long, complicated life, but enjoyed many friendships over the years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dayton, Ohio. Painting and several hobbies gave her joy. She wanted her body donated to Wright State University School of Medicine. Due to COVID-19 concerns, there will be no public gathering.
