Greenfire even placed third in the Best Seafood category in the 2018 Best of Dayton contest.
>>3 Dayton dining treasures to discover in charming Tipp City
For my main course, I happily settled on the Salmon Burger ($8.95), fresh chopped and hand pattied — seasoned with ginger and cilantro. I could go on and on about how perfect it was in every way after it was topped with ginger mayo. However, I was most impressed by the warm-up meal.

Appetizers can feel like a guilty splurge. They add a lot to the bill and you only end up getting a few bites thanks to the concept of “sharing.” Thankfully, this was not my experience. We enjoyed a round of starters that barely moved the decimal on our tab.
We tried the lamb and feta sliders with tzatziki sauce served on a sweet Hawaiian roll ($3.50 each), spicy chicken wings ($7.75), crab rangoon ($6.25) and best of all, the Thai chili fries ($3.95). You can also get an Ohio Artisan Cheese Board that will serve two to four people for $14.25.
If my recommendation isn't tempting enough to warrant the short drive from downtown Dayton, consider the fact that Greenfire's Chef, Art Chin, also won second place Best Chef in our reader-voted Best of Dayton 2018 contest. Chin came in second only to Meadowlark's Elizabeth Wiley.
A signature creation by Chef Chin that we did not get the chance to taste, but sounds too delicious to disregard, is the gluten-free Greenfire Burger — hand-pattied, choice ground chuck, seasoned with sweet wine and more and topped with sesame spinach. It is served with brown sugar sweet potato fries and wasabi-ginger mayo. See the entire Greenfire menu here.
