Following a VIP cheese-pull event and contest held for the recently opened Beavercreek Giordano’s restaurant on Tuesday, May 21, CEO and president Yorgo Koutsogiorgas said the company is eyeing downtown Dayton sites for the home of its second area pizza store.

“We are exploring right now real-estate opportunity in downtown Dayton, perhaps a little smaller than this,” he said.

The company has 75 locations, most of which are in the Midwest.

“Definitely Dayton is a wonderful market for us,” Koutsogiorgas said. “We are so appreciative of the community, the military base which is very close to us here (Beavercreek) and the immediate one, two, three mile communities have embraced the restaurant immediately.”

Giordano’s opened at 2819 Centre Drive near the Mall at Fairfield Commons and Wright State University’s Nutter Center on Feb. 19.

The roughly 5,000-square-feet space has a full bar, private space for parties and dining room.

The Dayton restaurant would have fewer seats and no private space for parties.

“The focus would be primary catering, carryout and delivery,” he said.

The Beavercreek restaurant was the second Giordano’s location in Ohio behind the location at 2137 Polaris Parkway near Columbus.

Koutsogiorgas said the company has not pinned down a location for a downtown Dayton Giordano’s.

“We have four or five that we are considering right now as well as locations in Cincinnati and Cleveland,” he said. Ohio’s very important.”
