New York's St. Patrick's Day parade is being postponed.

It's the first time the parade will not go on as planned in it's more than 250 year history.

It was first held in 1762, more than a decade before the Declaration of Independence was signed.

Like New York, Dayton's festivities are also being cancelled. No early morning breakfast and day drinking at the Dublin Pub.

No green beer at Flanagan's.

But for those looking to still savor the flavor of the day, many restaurants and stores in town will be offering corned beef and cabbage dinners for carryout today as they shift gears and look to still try and attract business.

The stores are no longer taking orders online, so contact your favorite DLM Deli to see about reserving a meal. Oakwood - 937-299.3561: Washington Square - 937-434-1294: Springboro 937-748-6800.

DLM's dinner to-go features DLM store-made corned beef brisket brined in a blend of pickling spiced and topped with peppercorn and bay leaves. The New York-style corned beef is served with steamed cabbage and red skin potatoes that are tossed with sweet butter, fresh parsley, sea salt, and black pepper. It's a traditional St. Patrick's Day meal that is ready to heat and serve at home. For an ideal accompaniment, pair with a pint of Guinness and a loaf of DLM Bakery's tasty Irish soda bread.

Grab some green food coloring and make yourself a green beer to drink. If you are eating around 7 p.m. the Dropkick Murphys will be doing their traditional concert from Boston. The concert will be available to live stream on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook Live on March 17 at 7 p.m.
