Giordano’s is dishing out an ‘Impossible Pizza’ option

Sausage recipe make with meat made from plants

Giordano’s — known for its cheesy, Chicago-style deep dish pizza — is the latest restaurant offering plant-based meat alternatives. 

The Impossible Pizza features Giordano’s signature sausage recipe prepared with Impossible meat made from plants, according to a release.

The pizza will be available as a premium ingredient option for thin crust, extra thin crust, and their iconic deep dish pizzas.

For diners interested in reducing their environmental footprint, Impossible meat uses 96% less land, 87% less water and 89% fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional beef from cows.

Impossible meat has as much bioavailable iron and protein as a comparable serving of ground beef and 0 mg of cholesterol (with 14g total fat per 4 oz. serving) and contains no animal hormones or antibiotics. It is also kosher, halal and gluten-free certified.

Giordano’s opened at 2819 Centre Drive near the Mall at Fairfield Commons and Wright State University’s Nutter Center on Feb. 19. 

The Beavercreek restaurant was the second Giordano’s location in Ohio behind the location at 2137 Polaris Parkway near Columbus.
