Monday, March 25, is International National Waffle Day across the world. The U.S. claims its own “National Waffle Day” on Aug. 24, by the way, because really, why have just one? With no shortage of quality waffle joints in the area, Dayton is ready to celebrate this day 365 days a year.
We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite restaurants and diners serving up this sticky delicacy to help you decide where you should dig in.

Catering to its vegan customers and the everyday waffle lover, Ghostlight Coffee shop recently added a $3 grab-n-go waffle to its menu. The shop sells many fresh-baked goods every day, however, these waffles are extra special because they’re made from scratch by Ghostlight.
After checking on availability this morning, an employee of Ghostlight Coffee said the item may not be available today, March 25, 2019, but is scheduled to return to the menu Tuesday, March 26.

Butter Cafe gets it right with its gluten-free waffle for $7.95. It’s also cooked to a perfect golden color that’s then topped off with a shower of powdered sugar.

Served up classic Belgian style, all of First Watch cafe’s many Dayton locations offer a light and airy waffle topped with warm, berry compote.
329 E. Fifth St., Dayton
Lily’s Bistro is out to grill the rest of the waffle competition by having an actual “Waffle of the Day.” The menu is updated daily, so you’ll have to check Lily’s website to see what the day’s special is. An example of a signature Lily’s waffle of the day is white chocolate chip waffle and cranberries with cranberry syrup and whipped cream.

Perhaps the only place in Dayton to score a caramel apple waffle, the Hasty Tasty will do you no wrong.

🌞WORTH THE DRIVE: Bourbon’s Craft Kitchen
This destination in Middletown for craft beer includes a Belgian waffle sandwich (with pepperjack and bacon) for lunch, Chicken and Waffles for dinner (Belgian waffles, honey hot chicken tenders, maple syrup) and four varieties of waffles for dessert including S’mores, Caramel, Vanilla and Maple.
