COACH OF THE YEAR

Chad Allen, Monroe

• Season: Led the Hornets to a 20-5 record, a spot in the Division II sectional finals and a second-place finish in the Southwestern Buckeye League Southwestern Division behind Bellbrook. Monroe set a program record for wins and posted its first winning record since 2006-07. Allen is 38-33 in three seasons with the Hornets. Honors: Southwestern Buckeye League Southwestern Division Coach of the Year. School job: Teaches AP government and U.S. history at Monroe.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Abby Prohaska, Lakota West, 5-10, junior, guard/forward

• Honors: Associated Press Division I All-Ohio first team, All-Southwest District first team; Greater Miami Conference first team. Career points: 633. College: Notre Dame (verbal commitment)

Cici Riggins, Hamilton, 5-10, sophomore, guard

• Honors: Associated Press Division I All-Southwest District honorable mention, Greater Miami Conference first team. Career points: 613.

Kenzi Saunders, Madison, 5-5, freshman, guard

• Honors: Associated Press Division III All-Southwest District honorable mention, Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division first team. Career points: 327.

Katie Sloneker, Monroe, 5-10, sophomore, guard

• Honors: Associated Press Division II All-Southwest District honorable mention, Southwestern Buckeye League Southwestern Division first team. Career points: 517.

Alexis Straw, Lebanon, 5-9, junior, guard

• Honors: Associated Press Division I All-Southwest District honorable mention, Greater Western Ohio Conference National West Division Athlete of the Year. Career points: 430.

Emma Wright, Talawanda, 5-10, senior, guard

• Honors: Associated Press Division I All-Southwest District third team, Southwest Ohio Conference Athlete of the Year. Career points: 989. College: Grand Valley State
