The Cincinnati Reds will open the 2014 season against a familiar foe — the St. Louis Cardinals.

Major League Baseball on Tuesday announced the tentative 2014 schedule. The Reds and Cardinals kick off a season-opening, three-game series on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Great American Ball Park.

The Reds face the American League East in interleague play, playing the New York Yankees (July 18-20) and Baltimore Orioles (Sept. 2-4) on the road and the Tampa Bay Rays (April 11-13) and Toronto Blue Jays (June 20-22) at home. The Reds play a two-game, home-and-home series with the Boston Red Sox, traveling to Boston for games on May 6-7 and hosting the Red Sox on Aug. 12-13.

Cincinnati also has its annual series against Cleveland, with four games (Aug. 4-5 in Cleveland and Aug. 6-7 in Cincinnati) against the Indians.

The MLB schedule begins March 22-23 when the Dodgers and Diamondbacks meet in Sydney, Australia.
