Report: Votto likely headed back to DL

Reds first baseman Joey Votto likely is headed back to the disabled list with the same injury — strained left quadriceps — that sidelined him earlier this season, sources told Fox Sports Ken Rosenthal on Sunday night.

Votto, the 2010 National League MVP, was out of the lineup Sunday for the second time in the last four days. He was 0 for 4 with three strikeouts on Saturday.

For the season, Votto is hitting .255 with six home runs and 23 RBI.
