Bengals claim defensive tackle off waivers

The Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday claimed defensive tackle Christian Ringo off waivers from the Green Bay Packers.

A sixth-round draft pick out of Louisiana-Lafayette in 2015, Ringo played eight games for the Packers last season, recording two tackles and a forced fumble.

The Bengals had an open roster spot since moving quarterback Jeff Driskel to Injured Reserve on Monday, so no corresponding move was needed.

The team will need to cut a player next week when cornerback Adam Jones returns from suspension.

Ringo will have a chance to face his former team in Week 3 when the Bengals travel to Green Bay.
