Bengals take Alabama offensive lineman with first-round pick

With the 11th pick, Cincinnati selected Alabama offensive tackle Jonah Williams.

The 6-foot-4, 302-pound lineman was considered the top offensive lineman in this draft class. When Pittsburgh traded up with Denver to get Michigan linebacker Devin Bush at No. 10, it likely was an easy decision for the Bengals.

An intelligent blocker who has size, flexibility and mobility to be effective in the run game and in pass protection, Williams played both right and left tackle during his three-year career at Alabama. The Crimson Tide wanted to play him at center last fall but needed him at left tackle, and some have projected him as a possible guard as well.
