The Dayton Flyers will play Marquette in a “secret scrimmage” on Oct. 29 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, according a source.

The news was first reported by Matt Velazquez, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The NCAA allows Division I teams to scrimmage each other but prohibits them from promoting them in any way or announcing them to the public.

Dayton played Purdue in a secret scrimmage last year. In 2014, the Flyers scrimmaged Illinois.

Marquette finished 20-13 last season and was picked to finish seventh out of 10 teams in the Big East this season. It returns four starters, including senior center Luke Fischer, who averaged 12.1 points and 6.2 rebounds.
