Dayton men’s basketball starts new tradition for graduates

Scoochie Smith first former Flyer to sign Alumni Board

The board is a small chunk of a basketball court with the Dayton logo in the middle. It’s hung on a wall inside the men’s basketball offices at the Cronin Center.

Former Dayton point guard Scoochie Smith was the first player to sign the board. Keith Waleskowski and Jordan Sibert have also added their signatures.

Dayton graduated all five seniors in 2017: Smith, Kendall Pollard, Charles Cooke, Kyle Davis and Joey Bonsu. Both seniors graduated in 2018: Darrell Davis and Joey Gruden.

In the most recent Academic Progress Rates released by the NCAA, Dayton’s multi-year APR in 2016-17 was 957, which was right on the average for Division I men’s basketball programs. The multi-year rate represents a four-year rolling average.

Six UD programs had perfect scores of 1,000: women's cross country, men's golf, women's golf, softball, men's tennis and women's tennis.
