Dayton offers scholarship to four-star prospect in 2020 class

Zed Key comes from same high school as Frankie Policelli

The Dayton Flyers offered a scholarship to Zed Key, a 6-foot-8 small forward in the class of 2020.

Key announced the offer Wednesday on Twitter. He’s a junior at Long Island Lutheran High School, the alma mater of Dayton freshman forward Frankie Policelli.

Key is a four-star prospect, according to 247Sports.com. He ranks 115th in the 2020 class. He also has scholarship offers from Penn State, Duquesne, Tulane, George Washington, Florida, Cincinnati, St. Bonaventure and others.

Key attended Brentwood High School (N.Y.) on Long Island for his first two years before transferring to Long Island Lutheran this year. He averaged 15.9 points per game as a sophomore, according to Newsday.com.

Dayton has one scholarship open in the 2019 class after the commitment of Moulaye Sissoko on Monday. It has three scholarships opening in 2020 with the departures of Ryan Mikesell, Trey Landers and Jhery Matos, all of whom will be seniors that year.
