Former WDTN Sports Director Dies

Long-time sports director at WDTN, Channel 2, passed away over the weekend.

Son-in-law Chris Long says Williams died in his sleep Sunday at his home in Marco Island, Florida. Funeral services are pending at the Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home in the Dayton suburb of Miamisburg.

Williams dedicated 45 years of his life to his job at WDTN, and to his community. He started working for WDTN in 1951 and retired in 1996, which was 45 years to the day he started his job.

Over the years, Williams covered the Reds and Cincinnati Bengals, the Indy 500, the Super Bowl, PGA golf tournaments and the Dayton Flyers.

He was 83.
