8/15: Fort Loramie bests Greenville and Fort Recovery in tri-match

Three teams entered Turtle Creek Golf Course Tuesday morning, but only one team emerged victorious.

Fort Loramie took the tri-match with a 175, Greenville trailing with a 203 and Fort Recovery rounding out the matchup with a 208.

Zach Pleiman medaled for Fort Loramie shooting a 40, while teammates Shea Swick had a 43 and Craig Eilerman and Eli Rosengarten each chipped in a 46.

Bryan Day led Greenville with a 49 on the day, while Andrew Kiryluk followed just behind with a 50. Connor Null, Matt Hounshell and Evan Saylor each shot a 52.

Harrison Kaup topped Fort Recovery’s scoring with a 43. Grant Knapke tacked on a 48.

Boys Golf

Sidney 175, Botkins 199: Jared Linsday led Sidney, shooting a 42. Nick Fischio also shot a 42 for Botkins.

Waynesville 171, Madison 189: Sipple posted a 39 for Madison in their loss. Stiles shot a 39 for Waynesville to move them to 2-1.

West Milton 162, Newton 180: Hayden Davidson and Justin Brown each chipped in a 39 for West Milton in their win. Chet Jamison shot a 42 for Newton.

Bellbrook 181, Northridge 252: Ryan Cross medaled for Bellbrook with a 43. Teammates Ryan Swanson and Gabe Hine followed closely with a 44 and 45 respectively. Ian Petroski shot a 48 for Northridge.

Mechanicsburg 183, Triad 201: Caleb Westfall was a medalist for Mechanisburg, shooting a 35. Austin Deere led Triad with a 45.

Ross 193, Edgewood 203: Mason Hollister led Edgewood with a 42, a score that led him to a medal. Tanner Welch and Jarred Dearwester shot a 45 and 48 respectively for Ross.

Dublin Invitational: Dublin Jerome took home the gold with a score of 297. Dublin Coffman followed with a 301, Centerville with a 305, Olentangy Liberty with a 308 and St. Charles rounded out the top five with a 310.

Fairmont 180, Xenia 200: Travis Newell led the scoring with a 43 for Xenia in their losing effort. Luke Van Leeuwen shot a 44 for Fairmont.

West Liberty-Salem 171, Northeastern 191: Tyler Gardner led West Liberty-Salem with a personal best 37. Patrick Harr also contributed a personal best of 45.

Talawanda 168, Little Miami 193: Trey Hubbard and Vincent Whitehead were co-medalists for Talawanda, each chipping in a 39. Little Miami had three 48s and a 49.

Girls Golf

Miamisburg 191, Frankin 229: Grace Anspach led all scorers with a 45, while Carissa Collins followed closely, shooting a 46.

Valley View 216, Oakwood 226: Heidi Brown (VV) and Lauren Hapgood (O) were co-medalists, each shooting a 47.

Girls Tennis

Bellbrook 5, Milford 0: Bellbrook won the first round OTCA tournament matchup. Szep, Foster and Arora all won their singles matches for Bellbrook while the doubles teams of Schultz/Buttery and Tschantz/Fuenfgeld won their doubles matches to seal the sweep.

Tippecanoe 5, Brookville 0: Amelia Zweizig, Dakota Schroeder, Sophia McDowell (singles), Joran Jones/Claire Wint and Tasha Bruner/Kaylee Cornelison (doubles) all won their sets to sweep Brookville.

Preble Shawnee 3, Lebanon 2: Ashlyn Hubbard, Alivia Reek (singles) and Kirsten Boone/Shay Neal (doubles) all won their sets to win the match for Preble Shawnee. Mollie Langdon had the lone singles win for Lebanon, while Lucy Colangelo/Sam Austin tacked on a doubles win.

Northwestern 4, Greenon 1: Wilson and Dean won their singles matchups, while the double teams of Latting/Embry and Smith/Aldredge won their sets to lead Northwestern to victory. Gochenour had the lone win for Greenon.

St. Marys 4, Sidney 1: Naomi Riegel had the lone win for Sidney in a super tiebreaker matchup.

Oakwood 5, Miami Valley 0: Lily McCloskey, Natalie Connelly, Agatha Shafer (singles), Sophie Schnell/Sidney Purks and Katie Ritschel/Sophia Russell (doubles) all won their sets in Oakwood’s sweep victory.

Fairmont 3, Kings 2: Jones, Taphorn (singles) and Greene/West (doubles) each won their sets to win the match for Fairmont. Muenchen had the singles victory for Kings, while Reich/Watiker chipped in a doubles win.

Vandalia 4, Northmont 1: Allison Baker, Xia Lin and Jo Velasco all won their singles sets to sweep the singles matches for Vandalia. Ashley Hess and Hannah Scarpelli had the doubles win to secure victory for Vandalia. Whitney White and Serenity Anderson had the lone win for Northmont.
