MUM Notebook: Tennis teams undefeated in league

MUM tennis teams lead league

Miami University-Middletown’s tennis teams are undefeated in league play and leading the West Division of the Ohio Regional Campus Conference.

The men’s team (3-2, 3-0 ORCC) is led by third-year player Alex Glock and second-year returner Tommy Tipton. Joining them are freshmen Mason Conley and Matt Odom, both from Lebanon; Jeremy Hollon (Madison); and Joseph Ma Mohan (China). Third-year player Rachel Coffey (Franklin) leads the women’s team (3-1, 3-0 ORCC), along with second-year reutrnee Eileen Tolleffson (Centerville). Freshmen Abby Cramer (Valley View) and Courtney Jennings (Edgewood) round out the women’s squad.

Volleyball team evens record with win over MUH

After getting off to a 4-1 start, the MUM volleyball team sits at .500 about halfway through its schedule. The ThunderHawks (5-5, 1-3 ORCC) opened the season with a third-place finish at the OSU Newark Titan Invitational. The ‘Hawks then fell to 4-5 before evening their record Wednesday with a win over MU-Hamilton.

Third-year player Heather Robinson (Hamilton) leads the team, followed by second-year players Kelli Wilson and Molli Webb (Franklin) and Coree Wheeler (Miamisburg). Seven freshmen joined the ‘Hawks this year, including Allie Millhouse (Miami East), Ciecrett Parker (Miami Valley Academy), Hannah Reed (Miamisburg), Lauren Koch, Bridget Thomas (Preble Shawnee), Maryah Martin (Yellow Springs), and Sam Wiederkehr (Kenton Ridge).
