Kenton Ridge High School senior Jamari McDavid won the long jump in the girls Division II state track and field meet at OSU’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

McDavid unloaded a winning leap of 18 feet, 9.5 inches to win by just .25 of an inch. It was a clutch effort by the Cougar, who placed a disappointing second in the event each of the last two seasons after also winning the state long jump as a freshman.

She’ll go for more gold in the D-II 100 and 200 later today.
