MAC rivals St. Henry, Marion Local in D-IV Northwest district final

Senior Caden Niekamp had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead St. Henry in a 48-41 defeat of Minster in a boys high school basketball Division IV Northwest district semifinal at Wapakoneta on Tuesday.

St. Henry (21-3) will play Midwest Athletic Conference rival Marion Local (17-7) in a D-IV district final at Wapak at 7 p.m. Friday. Jarod Schulze, a 6-9 senior, tallied 15 points to go with nine rebounds and four blocks for Minster (16-8).

Marion Local 48, Lima Perry 35: Flyers senior Nathan Bruns had 20 points and 11 rebounds in Tuesday's other district semi at Wapak. St. Henry and Marion Local split two consecutive regular-season games. St. Henry won 52-47 on Dec. 29 in the final of the Asset Allocation Holiday Classic at Coldwater. Marion Local won 48-43 at home in their MAC matchup six days later.
