The Oakland A’s promoted former Wright State catcher Sean Murphy to Double-A on Wednesday.

The Centerville High School graduate hit .297 with nine home runs and 26 RBIs for the Single-A Stockton Ports and was voted to the California League All-Star Game.

Murphy, whom the A’s drafted in the third round in 2016, will play in Double-A for the Midland RockHounds in the Texas League.
