Reds promote two more rookie pitchers

The Reds have added to their stock of rookie arms in the big leagues.

Cincinnati recalled pitcher Keury Mella and selected pitcher Deck McGuire from Class-AA Pensacola on Tuesday. In other moves, the team reactivated outfielder Jesse Winker from the 10-day disabled list and designated pitcher Barrett Astin for assignment.

It will be Mella and McGuire’s first major league action. Neither pitcher is among the Reds’ top 30 prospects, according to MLB.com.
