HS Roundup 10/16: Eaton, Tipp cruise in volleyball sectional action

Girls Volleyball

SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT

Alter 3, Ross 0: Lindsey Rocco chalked up 20 assists, Claudia Imwalle 10 kills and Elizabeth Schlemmer nine kills with seven digs for Alter.

Eaton 3, Oakwood 0: Libby Giffen tallied nine kills with nine digs and five aces to lead Eaton. Carsyn Lammers added 17 assists and Shaylen Perry eight kills.

Tippecanoe 3, Bellefontaine 0: Kaitlyn Husic recorded 20 straight serves in the second set to help Tippecanoe recover from a slow start. Corrin Siefring and Ashley Aselage added 10 kills apiece and Rachel Wildermuth 25 assists.

Urbana 3, Milton-Union 0: Emily Skelley scored 17 kills, Ella Taylor 32 assists with nine digs and Maleah Murphy 12 digs for Urbana.

Boys Soccer

Central Buckeye Conference All-League Awards: Nate Hecker of Bellefontaine and Ethan Miller of Northwestern earned player of the year honors for their respective divisions. Hecker headlined four Bellefontaine players on the Kenton Trail first team, Dakota Shell, Jacob Shell and Jackson Strzalka. Miller’s teammates Jansen Jenkins and Christian Kaffenbarger made first team in the Mad River.

Girls Soccer

Central Buckeye Conference All-League Awards: Caitlyn Shumaker of Bellefontaine and Sam Tracy of Urbana were tabbed as the players of the year. Teammates Telanei Brown, Ashleigh Deskins and Sophia Talebi joined Tracy on the Mad River first team. Daja Wilson joined teammate Shumaker on the Kenton Trail first team.
