Coming into the four-game weekend series, Sinclair needed to win three games to win the conference title. The Tartan Pride swept a doubleheader on Saturday. They finished 17-3 in conference play; Cuyahoga 16-4.
In Sunday’s nightcap, Jake Dennis allowed one run and just three hits in 5 1/3 innings to pick up the win. Jack Goonan and Cole Quillen shut the door from there in the seven-inning game.
Blaze Glenn went 2-for-3 and scored both runs. Sean Darmafall added two hits and stole two bases.
Sinclair improved to 40-12 overall, while Cuyahoga fell to 39-12.
The Tartan Pride travel to Grand Rapids Community College for a non-conference doubleheader on Monday.
