Leonard Taylor now has four touchdown catches in his college career

Springfield High School graduate Leonard Taylor played a big role in one of the biggest victories in Cincinnati Bearcats football history.

Taylor caught four passes for 70 yards Saturday as No. 7 Cincinnati beat No. 9 Notre Dame 24-13 in South Bend, Ind.

For Taylor, a 6-foot-5 senior tight end, it was the second most productive game in his four seasons. He had six catches for 76 yards and one touchdown against Central Florida last season.

In this game, Taylor got the Bearcats on the board with a 1-yard touchdown catch from Desmond Ridder with 12:09 left in the second quarter. Taylor later had a 27-yard catch on a drive that ended with Cincinnati’s second touchdown in the final minute of the first half, and he caught a 36-yard pass in the fourth quarter on a drive that ended with UC’s final touchdown.

Taylor now has four touchdowns in his career and two this season. He entered the game with 28 catches for 299 yards in his career.
