Toppin, Dayton set new school records for dunks in a game 

Flyers improve to 5-3 with most lopsided victory of the season

The Dayton Flyers set a new school record for dunks in a game with 12 in a 98-59 victory against Detroit Mercy on Tuesday at UD Arena.

Eight of the dunks were by redshirt freshman forward Obi Toppin, who also broke the school record for dunks by an individual.

The previous team record was nine. It was set in 2008 against UNC Greensboro and in 2009 against St. Bonaventure.

The previous individual record of six was set by Sean Finn in 2003 against Prairie View A&M.

Toppin scored a career-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting. Dayton shot 68.5 percent (37 of 54) from the field.
