It’s safe to say Urban and Shelley Meyer have some pretty good genes.

Nate Meyer, the son of the Ohio State football coach, announced Monday night he is going to the University of Cincinnati to play baseball.

That makes three Division I athletes in three tries for the Meyers, who saw daughters Nicki and Gigi play volleyball at Georgia Tech and Florida Gulf Coast, respectively.

Nate is following in his old man’s footsteps by becoming an athlete at UC.

After a pro baseball career didn’t pan out, Urban Meyer walked onto the Bearcats football team in the mid-80s before launching his coaching career.
