Chaminade Julienne 138-pounder Micah Marshall took one look at his Division II district bracket and smiled to himself.

Marshall, who entered as the sectional champ out of Graham, was eyeing his possible quarterfinal match with Indian Lake’s Chance Daisy.

Daisy had defeated Marshall in a tournament earlier in the year, and Marshall was hoping for a shot at revenge.

“He beat me when I was sick,” Marshall said after recording a pair of takedowns in a 4-0 win over Daisy to move into the semifinals Friday night. “When I saw him, I knew it would be a good revenge win for me.”

Marshall moves within one win from a berth at the state tournament after finishing sixth at the district last season. The thought of finally punching the ticket to state brought a wide smile.

“It is amazing to think about it,” Marshall said. “I am trying not to get too excited, but I can’t wait to get that feeling.”

Tippecanoe’s Caleb Blake joined Marshall in the semis at 138 with a 10-1 major decision over Keegan Rawlins in the quarters.

Graham was on a roll again at the district tournament. With four weight classes to go, the Falcons had 10 in the semis and four coming up as they looked to cap a perfect first day.

“We try to get as many to the semis as we can and after that it is one at a time,” Graham coach Jim Jordan said. “But, once you get to the semis, you only have to win that next one to go.”

Franklin’s Trent Scott also moved back to the semis after knocking off Batavia sectional champ Noah Pittman, turning the Wyoming wrestler for the fall at the 3:58 mark.

Division I: Beavercreek's Kyah Patrick may have turned in the match of the night at the Fairmont district tournament at Kettering's Trent Arena. He battled to a 13-11 win over Loveland's Richard Mendoza at 106 to move into the semis.

There will be some good semifinal action at Fairmont on Saturday morning, highlighted by Miamisburg’s two-time district champ Elijah Perkins facing nationally ranked Zachary Donathan of Mason at 132.

A pair of top freshmen will square off in the 113 semi when Northmont’s Andrew Knick faces Butler’s Logan Hoskins with a spot at state on the line.

Division III: Troy Christian advanced six to the semis to sit in second place at the D-III district tournament at Hobart Arena with 60 points.

Mechanicsburg leads the team race with 76.5 points. Miami East and Versailles are in a battle for fourth. Miami East has 45.5 points while Versailles is one point back.

On deck: Wrestling continues Saturday at 10 a.m. at all sites with finals slated for an hour following the final consolation semifinal
