GE Aviation wins $8.4M contract for Navy jet work

General Electric Aviation in Evendale has been awarded a $8.4 million contract for work on U.S. Navy aircraft.

The Southwestern Ohio-based company is awarded $8,422,109 for modification to a firm-fixed-price delivery order previously issued, the Department of Defense said.

This modification provides for supplies and services required for work on the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and the Boeing EA-18G Growler aircraft, including work on main short and ignition spraybars and bolts, the DoD said.

The work will be performed in Lynn, Mass., and is expected to be completed in July 2020.

Fiscal 2018 and 2019 aircraft procurement funds in the amount of $8,422,109 are being obligated on the award, the DoD said.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
