Crown Equipment buys Stillwater building

Crown Equipment Corp. has bought the 165,500-square-foot Stillwater Technologies building at 1040 S. Dorset Road in Troy.

Stillwater, a contract manufacturer, will continue to occupy its current space in the building, while Crown Equipment — a New Bremen, Ohio-based producer of material-handling equipment — will move into space once occupied by robotics manufacturer Motoman, according to an announcement by Sidney’s Industrial Property Brokers.

In August, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 50-percent, eight-year job creation tax credit for Crown, with the expectation that the company will create 45 full-time positions, generating $2.2 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location in Troy. The company is currently located at 750 Center Drive, in Vandalia.

Crown Equipment manufactures electric and gas lift trucks.

Tim Echemann of Industrial Property Brokers and Norm Khoury of Cassidy Turley represented the sellers.
