Danis Building Construction buys North Carolina company

MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — Danis Building Construction has acquired R.N. Rouse Co. Inc., a construction firm based in Goldsboro, N.C., for undisclosed terms, the companies announced Friday, Oct. 30.

John Danis, chairman and chief executive of Danis Building Construction, in an interview said he pursued the acquisition in part because, while the companies serve similar industries, joining forces gives Danis Building a wider geographic reach.

Danis Building — which has offices in Ohio, Florida and Kentucky — serves the health care, education, corporate and data center sectors, John Danis said. Rouse works with corporate, technology, military and health care clients and has three offices in North Carolina.

The deal brings Danis Building Construction’s employment to more than 400 people and eight offices, according to a news release announcing the deal. Danis Building has an estimated revenue of up to $300 million.

Prior to the acquisition, R.N. Rouse had 90 employees and annual revenue of $75 million, according to a news release.

Plans call for all Rouse management — including the company’s president and four members of the Rouse family, all shareholders — to remain with the company, John Danis said.

The deal was about one year in the making.

“We spent a lot of time learning about each other’s business models and areas of expertise,” John Danis said in a statement.
