Dayton Mall hosts special holiday event for kids with autism

Dayton Mall will host its 10th annual Sensitive Santa Holiday Photo event, which caters to children with Autism spectrum disorders.

The event will be hosted on Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Santa’s Village near Macy’s. During the event, Santa’s area will be made “sensory friendly,” with low lighting and quieter surroundings designed to lessen behavioral triggers. Reservations will be taken for visits with Santa.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to visit Santa and we’re pleased that we can make the accommodations necessary to make that possible for so many,” said David Casper, Dayton Mall marketing director.
