Smoked-salmon deli to open tomorrow in Dayton

Oaked and Smoked — a specialty deli and internet business at 2920 Wayne Ave. in Dayton that will sell smoked salmon products to online shoppers, retail customers and restaurants — is scheduled to open with limited hours Thursday, March 6.

The carry-out deli — no seating is available for dining in — will be open Thursday and Friday only, at least to start. The hours will be Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Friday 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Three products will be available for purchase online: smoked salmon salad, packaged smoked salmon, and uncooked/frozen sockeye salmon. The deli does not accept cash or checks.

Martin Davis Jr. of Beavercreek, who began wood-smoking fish as a hobby two decades ago, and his son Martin Davis III, also of Beavercreek, launched the business in space that has been vacant for more than a year. The storefront previously housed New York Pizza and Tony’s Italian Sausage.
