Fresh Thyme announces opening date for Beavercreek store

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market will open its new Beavercreek store on May 20, the company announced today.

The store at 2850 Centre Drive near the Mall at Fairfield Commons just recently held a job fair looking to fill 90 to 100 positions.

The region’s first Fresh Thyme opened last month on Feedwire Road in Sugarcreek Twp. near the Cornerstone of Centerville project. The local store openings are part of a broader push that will see the Downers Grove, Illinois-based specialty grocer open 60 new stores and create 5,000 jobs in the Midwest over the next five years, company officials have said. Two Fresh Thyme markets opened in 2014 in the Cincinnati area.

“Fresh Thyme is passionate about building lasting relationships within the communities we serve, and we are excited to meet the residents of Beavercreek,” said Fresh Thyme’s CEO Chris Sherrell. “We’ve been hearing that many shoppers from Beavercreek have been visiting our Sugarcreek Twp. location, and we are looking forward to better serving the entire community with the opening of our second store in the Dayton area.”

Fresh Thyme entered an organic- and health-foods market in Montgomery County’s south suburbs that already includes Earth Fare in Centerville and Health Foods Unlimited in Miami Twp., and which will soon include Whole Foods in Washington Twp., scheduled to open later this spring.

The store will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:45 a.m. on May 20 with the doors opening immediately after at 7 a.m.
