Kings Island hiring 500 for Halloween

Open interviews are being held weekends this month and into September for “scareactors” for the amusement park’s annual Halloween Haunt.

Kings Island will conduct interviews now through Sept. 9 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Fridays; and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Those times include this weekend.

Applicants must be at least 16-years-old. Kings Island wants prospects to apply online in advance at www.visitkingsisland.com/jobs. No horror wear is permitted during interviews, park officials said.

“We’re looking to fill more than 500 positions for the monsters, what we call scareactors,” said Don Helbig, Kings Island spokesman. “If you enjoy the Halloween season and you like to scare people, it’s a great opportunity for you.”

This is the sixth season of Halloween Haunt and consists of 11 mazes, four fear zones, and “roamers and creepers” throughout the park. Hires work every Friday and Saturday night from Sept. 21 to Oct. 27, Helbig said.
