Local ski resort closes due to unstable weather patterns

Perfect North Slopes has shut down for the season due to “unstable weather patterns.”

The ski resort, which is located in Lawrenceberg, Ind., announced to customers that the slopes were shutting down for the season after unseasonably warm weather throughout the last few months. Perfect North said that though there are colder temperatures predicted in the near forecast, their snow base is too far gone to replenish it in time.

“It was a roller coaster with the unstable weather patterns we experienced all winter. We tried week after week to provide you with the best snow possible,” the company statement said.

Mad River Mountain, located in Zanesfield, has not closed for the season yet. The company said it would continue snowmaking on tonight and on Friday night.
