Fuchs brings more than 25 years experience in intelligence and national security, aerospace and defense, commercial IT services and private equity with an emphasis on engineering, development, integration and operations of mission-critical programs, systems and technologies, the company said.
“Sid brings a proven and substantial track record to MacB of successfully growing engineering and technology services companies in our core markets,” said Syd Martin, vice chairman of the board. “His strong technical and business background, demonstrated leadership, extensive executive experience and breadth and depth of relationships across the defense and intelligence communities will be instrumental as we continue on our incredibly strong growth trajectory.
” Prior to joining MacAulay-Brown, Fuchs was a corporate officer of Northrop Grumman Corp. and served as president and CEO of TASC Inc., a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman that serves the U.S. defense and intelligence markets. Under his leadership, revenues grew from $450 million to over $1.2 billion during his tenure, MacAulay-Brown said.
Fuchs also served as president of Northrop Grumman Information Technology’s Civilian Agencies Group, a $1.4 billion unit delivering IT services to the healthcare, homeland security, public safety and federal civilian markets.
In addition, he was CEO and a director of ATS Corp., a government IT services provider serving the defense and federal markets.
Before joining ATS, Fuchs was CEO and a director of OAO Technology Solutions, a provider of managed IT services and products. Fuchs is a former Central Intelligence Agency officer, having served at domestic and foreign posts and on assignment with the U.S. Air Force and the National Reconnaissance Office and is a graduate of the CIA’s Special Operations and Training School. In 2002 he was nominated by the White House and appointed by the Secretary of Defense to the National Defense University Board of Visitors and in 2008, he was appointed to the Defense Science Board’s Intelligence Task Force.
