Morris Furniture has stores in Dayton, Centerville, Springdale, Columbus and Florence, Ky. It started in Dayton in 1947.

Klaben, along with two leaders at Surya, a rug company that expanded into the United States after it was founded in India in 1976, received the award because their work has “fundamentally impacted the home furnishing industry,” the release said.

“I am extremely honored to be one of the 2019 Spirit of Life recipients for the Home Furnishings Industry, an industry that has given so much to my family. Many of us have been affected by the diseases that City of Hope is working tirelessly to beat,” said Klaben in a statement.
