New clothing store opens Friday in downtown Dayton

A new clothing and accessories store called Linwood Men’s Specialty Shoppe will host its grand opening from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 7, 27 S. St. Clair St. in downtown Dayton.

William Jarvis III of Trotwood, the shop’s owner, said he chose the location in the St. Clair Lofts adjacent to the former Serendipity Bistro, because he wants to be part of the revitalization of downtown Dayton.

Jarvis said three items will be given away through a raffle on opening day: a weekender/duffel bag, a lapel pin/pocket square set, and an eight-piece Scotch set.

The shop will sell men’s suits, business-casual clothing, jeans, ties, watches, wallets, belts, cuff links and other accessories, and will special-order clothing and other items, Jarvis said. He also intends to install a humidor so he can sell cigars.

The shop’s hours will be 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and by appointment Sunday.
